deadCENTER FILM FESTIVAL: TEN YEARS, MAN! deadCENTER FILM FESTIVAL: TEN YEARS, MAN!

The fest has grown from screening a handful of films over the course one weekend back in 2001 to showcasing over 100 movies and shorts over five days and attracting filmmakers from across the globe. In this, its tenth year, deadCENTER is firing on all cylinders and is — in my humble opinion — one of the best film festivals around. Period.

THE LAND BEFORE TIME THE LAND BEFORE TIME

2010 FANTASIA FILM FESTIVAL SELECTION! This is a masterpiece. To call it anything less would not do. I finally saw a beautiful and crisp copy of it in a proper theatre at the Fantasia Film Festival when Don Bluth and Gary Goldman were both honoured with a well deserved lifetime achievement award. T.T. SYNDROME T.T. SYNDROME

In my last entry I talked about how I decided to get started making documentaries. It basically boiled down to; I was too inexperienced and insecure to make a narrative short or feature, my time was limited (or better, I needed to make it in a time frame that was logical to my job schedule) and I had an interest in the “strange but true” world of documentary filmmaking…
