MARTYRS (DVD)

5 Stars

LATE BLOOMER (DVD)

3.5 Stars
Year Released: 2008
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Running Time: 90 minutes

It’s a lazy comparison, but one that’s rather unavoidable: this 2004 film has the look and feel of “Tetsuo, the Iron Man.” It’s still not as visually chaotic as Shinya Tsukamoto’s film, but it certainly has its spirit.

BEASTER

4 Stars
Year Released: 2004
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Running Time: 10 minutes

HAPPY EASTER! Goddamnit, I love blasphemy and you can’t get much more blasphemous than Vin Morrone’s “Beaster”. This horror short depicts the Resurrection of Christ as how I would like to imagine it – a bloody zombie nightmare…

GUTTERBALLS (DVD)

3.5 Stars
Year Released: 2009

This is not a good movie, but it is a must see for true fans of sicko cinema. It doesn’t stop ramping up the sleaze factor until it’s over and you’re sitting there with your head spinning.

MONSTERS VS. ALIENS

3 Stars
Year Released: 2009
MPAA Rating: PG
Running Time: 94 minutes

IN THEATERS! Yes, the 1950s monster movie homage is there, but it’s not consistent and too often tends to take a backseat to your run-of-the-mill goony Dreamworks Animation humor.

“Tokyo Gore Police” has a real “Robocop” feel about it. And, like Verhoeven’s sci-fi classic, it’s plenty gory, too…
