STREET FIGHT

1 Stars
Year Released: 2012
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Running Time: 70 minutes

There are a lot of problems with “Street Fight,” but the biggest one is the acting, which is not convincing at all. Everyone (and I stress everyone) looks like they’re reading from cue cards that are five feet in front of them…

DESOLATION WILDERNESS

0.5 Stars
Year Released: 2011
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Running Time: 84 minutes

Nothing happens in this movie. Almost the entire running time is two guys hanging out in the woods, wandering around, shooting fireworks, and occasionally playing their musical instruments. This film carries no excitement, no terror, and no engagement – it’s exhausting to watch…

ROBOT TEARS

2 Stars
Year Released: 2012
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Running Time: 82 minutes

“Robot Tears” has quite a few moments of original comedy – the cleverly written dialogue assists these scenes greatly – but the comedy gets heavy-handed and the jokes eventually become machine-like – one after another, a joke for the sake of having a joke…

GREG’S GUARDIAN ANGEL

3 Stars
Year Released: 2012
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Running Time: 10 minutes

I’d like to see them expand this into a series or perhaps a feature. They have the right confidence to deliver effective comedy and know when it’s time to shift the style in a new direction…

OUT THERE

3.5 Stars
Year Released: 2012
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Running Time: 16 minutes

In just a 15 minute running time, Plunkett has managed to successfully make a slow burn horror short with a brilliant pay off…

SHARP LOVE, SHARP KITTENS

3 Stars
Year Released: 2012
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Running Time: 15 minutes

“Sharp Love…” is a very, well, sharp short film. Its production value is top quality and the script is really impressive. With a 15 minute running time, “Sharp Love…” manages to cleverly poke fun at the Brooklyn hipster stereotype without being obnoxious about it.
