WHY SO SERIOUS? SURPRISE

WHY SO SERIOUS? SURPRISE

The Jack O’Lantern is down.

And in remains a cryptic scavenger hunt where people in cities ranging from Denver to New York can go to a specific part of their city and look for a clue the joker has laid out.

Now the garbled cut letters have revealed a message:

“The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules.”

And if you click the photo peaking out from the lower right hand corner of the letter, you can spot the twisted mug of The Joker. His scarred painted face and all. And what a sight it is.

But, if you investigate closer, you can discover that this picture of the Joker is the working of someone else entirely, and out pops a voice proclaiming “Tonight you’re going to break your one rule…”

Upon a first listen it sounds like the Joker, but upon further investigation it’s quite obviously none other than Two-Face himself! And Eckhart sounds just like we’d imagine.

This is either a game being perpetrated by both characters, or perhaps Two-Face is stalking the Joker. We’ll have to find out. Many suspect in this mythos, the Joker is the cause of Dent becoming Two-Face and Two-Face becomes a villain who is also trying to find the Joker to murder him.

There’s also Rory’s Death Kiss, which has the last line “Do this for me… and I’ll do something to for you.” An apparent reference to Two face’s conflicting sides.

Either way, this is another epic viral campaign.

I love this marketing campaign, it just keeps getting better and better. Heath Ledger as The Joker looks twisted and demented, just like he’s supposed to.
