With the live webcam on the frontpage of Film Threat, I almost forgot all about the idea of actually text blogging the festival. Something about the spontaneity of the video makes it attractive, but it is a fleeting endeavor, as in you don’t know what to record for posterity. What thought best does says what, what rant is most entertaining… s’all up in the air.
Anyway, so far Park City has been tame. Opening night was empty on Main Street (which was vaguely interesting) and we (Don, Zack and Jessica) basically wandered aimlessly until we found the Ray-Ban Rock Band Bar, which may be my favorite venue of any Sundance EVER. I went there today and got to play some Rock Band on a stage (and got 100% drumming on Blitzkrieg Bop… on Easy, but still).
Currently getting ready to watch Randy Quaid in “Real: Time,” which is the opening night film of Slamdance. I get to interview him in the morning, so I want to make sure I know what I’m talking / asking about. Oh, and I’ll be on Merle Bertrand’s radio show tomorrow morning around 8:35am PST. It’s KMAC in Austin, TX and it should be a blast. We’re going to be talking all about Sundance, of course, and life is good.
