NEW YORK IS TURNING JAPANESE
The first annual NEWYORK-TOKYO Film Festival, taking place at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, June 13 – 15, will present the cutting edge of Japanese cinema. So that means there’s gonna be some Takashi Miike action going on, right? You bet your ass. His “Shangri-La” will have its U.S. premiere at the festival.
Also screening at the festival will be The Animatrix, and Sogo Ishii’s “Electric Dragon 80,000 V.”
The festival will premiere selections in various genres from J-horror to manga and anime based films.
