Several award winning short films from Ohio filmmakers are set to screen at the LOOK AT MY SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL, to play at the Arena Grand in downtown Columbus on October 7th, 2004, 7:30 PM – admission is free. The first semi-annual film fest celebrates locally produced short films and will host the world premiere to several of the pieces.
Festival organizer Peter John Ross says, “Columbus Ohio has a burgeoning film scene with may creative people writing, directing, acting, and doing independent films here. This screening presents some of the best Columbus can offer.”
The close nit group of filmmakers have put together a screening with comedies, dramas, social issues, and even a World War II science fiction film. Not only is there a lot of versatility, but high production value.
“People are in for a treat, and best of all – it’s free and open to the public.”, says Peter John Ross, who worked on 10 of the 17 selections. “The whole point is to sit in a dark room with a bunch of strangers and be entertained by moving pictures. That’s why I do it anyway.”
One of the movies playing, ALWAYS LATE, was created for the 48 Hour Film Project Cincinnati 2004 and already won an audience award at the screening at the University of Northern Kentucky. Shortly after, it was put online and won “Best Video of the Week” from Internet Video Magazine.
