The 2005 Newport Beach Film Festival has selected the award-winning electronic music and DJ documentary ‘Put the Needle on the Record’ to take part in its upcoming festival. Between April 21st and April 30th, the 2005 Newport Beach Film Festival will showcase more than 350 films from around the world, offering an ambitious and international selection of features, shorts, documentaries and animation that will compete for both Jury and Audience awards.
First time director Jason Rem filmed the events of the annual Winter Music Conference in Miami, Florida and used that setting as a backdrop to examine many aspects of electronic dance music, the DJ and club culture. The film includes global and historical perspectives as well as interviews and music from many of the top and rising players in the industry.
