OZARK FOOTHILLS ANNOUNCES 2005 PROGRAM

Ozark Foothills FilmFest takes place over a three week period in three north central Arkansas communities, with higher profile events taking place on the weekends. Generally, events take place in Batesville on the first weekend, in Heber Springs on the second weekend, and in Searcy on the third weekend, but there are some deviations.

The festival will showcase 51 films and host 33 guest artists and presenters. Guest artists include a biographer, a fiction writer, and an archivist, as well as filmmakers, actors, composers, and musicians.

Films range from a lyrical 4 minute visual and aural reverie about an Hispanic cultural celebration (STREET FARE) to a feature-length narrative comedy about the tribulations of a day laborer unwittingly enmeshed in a small-time crime spree (JESUS THE DRIVER), to the winner of the FIPRESCI International Critics’ Prize for Best Film at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival (THE CLAY BIRD).
