SYRACUSE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL PART II
The second annual Syracuse International Film and Video Festival is getting ready to roll out, April 28-May 1 in New York. SIFVF features 126 “indie” films and videos from 23 countries, selected from more than 630 submissions.
Nearly 40 directors and filmmakers from overseas are participating as SIFVF judges and guests. Among them are MTV’s Gao Xiasong and Xie Fei (China); Ana Amado (Argentina); Gennady Poloka (Russia); Mark Achbar (Canada); and Tim Reid, Peter Weller, and Albert Maysles (USA). Jeff Beal, best known for his music to “Pollock,” “MONK,” and “Carnivale,” is judging submissions for the new “Best Musical Score” category. There’s also a K-12 category.
