GET INTO SOME JAPANESE SHORT SHORTS
The Short Shorts Film Festival, one of Asia’s largest festivals for International short film, is now a qualifying festival for the Short Films category for the Annual Academy Awards. They are accepting submissions for their Summer 2006 competition and tour.
Now entering their 8th year, the Short Shorts Film Festival (SSFF) reaches audiences over 30,000 per year. Their mission is to present the best in recent short film from around the globe. Recipients of the Short Shorts Award will qualify for consideration in the Short Films Category of the Annual Academy Awards.
The SSFF is a competitive festival, which for the past seven years has awarded cash prizes to winning filmmakers totaling over $70,000. In addition, each year they sponsor airfare for many filmmakers to join the festival in Tokyo, where they participate in Q&A with audience members and tour the city.
