From [ October 11th to the 15th, 2000, ] the 3rd Annual Marco Island Film Festival will begin a massive celebration of feature, short, documentary, and student films, including international entries, on their lovely island hideaway. In case you’re pondering the geography, Marco Island lies southwest of Florida, near the Gulf of Mexico.
This year’s Festival will again feature the opening night signature event, “Sandals and Cinema”. As the name implies, island style takes over, and the evening’s films are all shown on a beach under starry skies. Other Marco Island highlights include special guests like Sean Young and Nancy McKeon, and special awards of recognition are slated for film stars Celeste Holm and Ben Gazzara, who will be fresh from the set of his latest movie, “Very Mean Men”.
The Festival offers both day passes (which include all films and events) and event passes. For information or to purchase tickets, call the Marco Island Film Festival office at [ (941) 642-3378, ] or visit the [ the Marco Island Film Festival website. ]
