CINEQUEST KEEPS ON ROLLING ALONG
The 19th Annual Cinequest Film Festival hits full stride this week in downtown San Jose. Film Threat writers Whitney Borup and Scott Knopf have been knee deep in screenings and reviews and Chris Gore partied the weekend away at the fanciest fest in the Bay Area. But now, the plot thickens for film fans all around the Bay.
Tuesday night, March 3 Cinequest bestows it’s Maverick Spirit Award on Oscar winner (and star of the classic “Enemy Mine!”) Lou Gossett Jr. The evening will also feature a screening of the inspirational “The Least Among You” which stars Gossett Jr. The festivities kick off at 7:00.
Wednesday, March 4 Cinequest turns their Maverick Spirit towards a lighter side by celebrating the career of Kevin Pollack and Saturday, March 6 will be “The Day of the Writer.” The March 6 event features a full day of screenwriting panels as well as a conversation with Oscar winning screenwriter (and total hottie) Diablo Cody.
Tickets are also available for a wide array of documentaries, short films and features so if you’re in or around the Bay Area, come on out to Cinequest. Tell ‘em Film Threat sent ya!
