MARK TWAIN’S COUSIN PREMIERES AT RHODE ISLAND

“Echos Of Enlightenment” the new film staring Dan Coplan, (“Man in The Iron Mask,” “The Dragon Gate”), Mark Twain’s fourth Cousin, will have its world premiere as part of the official competition of the 2001 Rhode Island International Film Festival on August 10th. The film marks Coplan’s directing debut as well. Telling the story of a man who vanishes without a trace, “Echos” has also been selected to participate in the IFP Market this Fall in NYC. This film was made on a shoestring budget by a band of 60+ people whose hearts and minds were captured by this fascinating story about a sleazy lawyer who stumbles upon enlightenment.
“Echos of Enlightenment” is a drama about a wife’s search for her missing husband, Daniel, who is pushed beyond the brink by bottom feeding clients and greedy creditors. You see, every day, somewhere in America, a middle aged man leaves his home and his family, and never returns. Two months later, fed up with the police, the press, the FBI, Mary, his wife, retraces his every step and meets all the people Daniel touched before his disappearance and makes a startling discovery.
The film also stars Christine Harte (The Invisible Man, Port Charles, The Bold & The Beautiful); Shannah Laumeister (61*, Bullets Over Broadway, NYPD Blue); Jesse Goins (Becker, Soldier, Patriot Games, RoboCop); Luis Saguar (Nash Bridges, Flawless, 8mm); Dennis Hayden (Wild Bill, Die Hard); Stephen Furst (Animal House, Babylon 5); William Richert (A Night In the Life of Jimmy Reardon, Winter Kills); and, Jo Marie Payton (Will & Grace, Family Matters, Moesha). It was produced by Gloria Everett and Dan Coplan; written and directed by Dan Coplan; photographed by Howard Wexler with an original score by Charles Gregory Washington, and featuring the songs of Electrostatic and Nectar.
