Look out Steven Soderbergh and Quentin Tarantino, the first-of-its-kind, Levi’s® Toronto International Teen Movie Festival (TITMF) is set to provide teens, 19 and under from around the globe, the opportunity to display their work as budding filmmakers to the international marketplace. Since it was first announced, the Festival has received hundreds of submissions from teens around the world. Many teen filmmakers have expressed a need for more time to complete their projects so the deadline has been extended to Friday, September 14, 2001.
The Levi’s® TITMF will be a weeklong block party running from October 27th to November 4th with screenings to be held at AMC theatres in Toronto, Canada. Entries will be judged by a panel including teenagers, festival organizers and sponsors. Entries will be divided into two age groups – 13 to 19 years old and 13 and under. Submissions may be produced in any format, including beta, 8mm, digital or even camcorder.
“Kids have an amazing ability to express themselves and this will be their chance to show us the world through their eyes. With a little imagination and a camera, we know we can help them to become the next Steven Spielberg,” said Myles Shane, vice president, Hiltz2 Media Group.
Produced by Hiltz2 Media Group and featuring an honorary board of rising stars, including Gabrielle Union of BRING IT ON and Robin Dunne of “Dawson’s Creek,” aspiring moviemakers will have their shot at fame during TITMF.
