SIDEWALK MOVING PICTURE FESTIVAL PHOTO DIARY 2001

There are two simple ingredients that make a successful festival — great films and great parties. And you know I love a festival that puts on a good party. The Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival showed an impressive 100 films in three days. This was particularly noteworthy as the Birmingham, Alabama event is only in its the third year.
I was attending to see indie films as well as moderate the festival’s filmmaking symposiums and chair the feature jury. I had my work more than cut out for me. It was four film-filled days (I came in a day early for the filmmaker’s reception) of non-stop screenings and events. I could go on and on about the amazing slate of films, the parties, the hospitality, but truly the best part of this fest was the people. The pictures tell the whole tale…
