GET TIED UP AND SEXED UP AT S/M FILM FESTIVAL

Come on down, get your ass smacked and watch some kinky films! The THIRD ANNUAL NEW YORK S/M FILM FESTIVAL kicks off on Tuesday, October 8th, and features a program of films and videos that explore various aspects of sadomasochism, bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, roleplay and fetishes. The festival, which also includes presentations, a brunch, a special fundraising gala and an S/M play party, runs through Sunday, October 13th.
A variety of genres will screen throughout the festival, with offerings ranging from documentary to drama, comedy to erotica, and the silly to the sublime, all intended to appeal to a wide diversity of interests in S/M sexuality. Also prominent among the selections are titles with a historical significance to S/M culture and its aesthetic traditions. Presenting the film festival is The Eulenspiegel Society (TES), a New York City-based S/M education and support group, the oldest and largest of its kind in the nation.
The festivities begin Tuesday, October 8th, with a discussion and presentation entitled “The Return of The Good, The Bad and The Ridiculous: S/M at the Movies,” an exploration of how S/M has been portrayed in recent media. On Wednesday, October 9th, the novice-oriented “An Introduction to the Scene” is scheduled, which will cover basic concepts, terminology and the various roles and activities within S/M. Both presentations will be held at TES’ regular meeting place, 24 Bond Street, NYC; doors open at 7:30 PM and presentations begin at 8 PM.
Film and video screenings for the festival will be Thursday, October 10th through Saturday, October 12th at Anthology Film Archives, 32 Second Avenue, NYC, with several different programs per evening.
