Hey kids...
Any animators out there? I know there's a million people doing Flash stuff etc. on the web; I have seen enough "South Park" inspired depictions of defecation to last me several lifetimes.
But is anyone actually trying to tell stories? I'm not sure why the indie/d.i.y. film making ethos that has spit out home brewed splatter flick in every backyard has produced so few attempts at self-produced animated features.
Yeah, it's a lot of work to sit in front of your computer for a year working on your own version of "Akira" but in my book it's easier than trying to get all your friends to show up on time (and sober) when you finally start shooting your DV Tarrantino homage on a Saturday morning behind the mall.
And it might take a bit of ingenuity and finese but with a modicum of skills and the right software (thank you Ka-Zaa)...the barriers to entry are pretty darn low.
Anyway, there should be an animator forum here. Damnit! and until then, this will just be a shameless plug inviting you all to see my animations at www.kustomkool.com
