I'm curious about how long a review generally takes to appear. I sent my film in a few weeks ago. I know another filmmaker whose review showed up after 3 months. I see that studio films usually show up before their general release. I'm not complaining, I'm just curious how long it takes, and if they choose not to review it will they write me and let me know.
Also wondering if there's any policy they have about using quotes from their review for promotional purposes.

Well, I am a reviewer for the site and all I know out of that entire paragraph is that when your film is sent in, there's nothing to do but wait. It can be seen a week from now or it can be seen 8 months from now and then written about.
Plus, the submissions are numerous every week. I'm not sure what the exact figure is at this time, but I can attest to the fact that it is a heck of a lot.

It often takes a few months to get a film reviewed, sometimes a little longer depending on how crazy our backlog of films is. Hang in there and maybe check this out - http://www.filmthreat.com/GoreyDetails.asp?Id=150
Also, as far as theatrical reviews go, they're mostly written up by our writers who are dedicated to reviewing big releases, while we have other writers who just mainly stick to filmmaker submissions.
Using quotes in your promotion materials is fine with us as long as they're properly credited.
Thanks for your patience!

As a filmmaker that's been reviwed on the Film Threat site (for Monsturd) I can say you just need to be patient. It took Film Threat between 5 and 6 months to get to our movie. Also, don't put all of your eggs in the Film Threat basket. There are other cinema sites out there who will look at your film and probably write something up much quicker.
Check out www.b-independent.com and

as a couple of examples
