This is a better story...

I was at The Sonoma Valley Film Fest in '02, which was Gore's debut as fest director, and they actually tripled their attendance. Great movies, fun panels & lots of celebs. Great awards night party at a winery in the barrel room (with the NICEST port-a-potties I have ever seen!).

I had a hilarious conversation with Matt Lillard at one of the awards party bars. He was totally cool, approachable & funny. He admitted that "Scooby Doo" was crap, but would make "a gazillion dollars", and also said, "Hey, Russell Crowe has made lots of shitty movies too!". Gotta love a guy that doesn't take himself too seriously!

I missed this year's fest, but I heard it was a blast. Pauly Shore was there, so how could it not be a success?!

I am no longer involved in the festival and actually left on bad terms. I cannot recommend this festival to any filmmaker out there. I will go into detail on the web site at some point, but it's sad to see how this festival that had so much potential fall so quickly over greed.

Wow, I didn't realize that things had gone sour with the Sonoma fest. That sucks! Well, I did have a good time when I was there, and you did a great job directing, so I guess it was fun while it lasted!
