I've been combing TV Guide.com for the past 25 minutes and can't find a single movie worth watching tonight...Does anyone know what's worth watching on TV tonight?

Dig in your video and DVD collection (if you have one), and see what's there.

Read a book. A copy of Nudist Annual will also do for a healthy dose of entertainment.

What's happening with TV? Seriously, this shit is unnerving. I can't stand it when I come home and there's nothing good to watch. Now, I spend most of my time watching new films and going out to the theaters (even that I don't do often because of the unquestionably horrible movies out).
With twenty one bastardized versions of the Bachelor playing on each of the networks, stupid & pointless Friends and anything on "Must Shit TV" because I sure as hell am not watching any of it, I'd rather go into the loo and read a newspaper.
Anyway, there is no solution, just be miserable and the advertisers of sick of it too. the 18-34 year old MALE category has significantly dropped and they're very key consumers. So, sooner or later television will have to shape up, until then, I got classic novels, my DVDs and the library which is a great place to pick up hot chicks.
hahahahaha, and i'm spent.

What's happened with TV is obvious: it's run out of well-written material to show because it's been around so long now. With all these channels fighting for programming 24/7, the law of averages dictates that 99% of what they show will be garbage; there simply isn't enough good material to go round. And there's no way it can get better; in fact, it's only ever gonna get worse. It's not as if a million great new writers are gonna suddenly appear out of the woodwork to save the cathode box.
TV is a dead medium, let's face it.

I disconnected the cable five years ago, back when there were only 37 channels, and they all were showing reruns of "Murder She Wrote." I've guest-starred on TV shows and been in commercials that I've never even seen. (All about the paycheck, baby.)
In the spirit of "kill your television," here are some ideas of what to do with the time you used to waste sitting in front of the mind-numbing tool of the government and industry:
1) Take a frickin' walk! Obesity is of epidemic proportions. It doesn't take an MD to tell you that too much tube is one of the causes.
2) Read a book. Who knows? It might inspire you.
3) Have sex. ('Nuff said there.)
4) Engage in a conversation. It's a dying art, and dog nose, witty dialog can often lead to suggestion #3.
5) Get involved in a worthy cause, be it political, charitable, or even just plain selfish.
6) Spend some time with friends and/or family. (What a novel idea!)
Okay... Enough out of me. I'm going back to my re-reading of "The House of the Seven Gables" before crashing out. Nighty-night.

I think I mentioned that our digital cable package in Canada is shite compared to Direct TV (there always seemed to be something on with that U.S. package) - which is why the CRTC feels it necessary not to strike a business deal with that particular satellite company, but to outlaw the use of it and label anyone who puts up a dish a pirate.
As for what's on the multitude of tee vee programming, I think this will provide a nice read for the haters of the medium:
Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0688082742/qid=1072551942/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-5477097-2924645?v=glance&s=books) by Jerry Mander
Also, I find it preferable to buy the DVDs of shows that pique my interest so that I may avoid commercials and the waiting for my weekly infusion of the handful of creative programs I enjoy.

But, but, if I get rid of my TV, what am I going to center all my living room furniture around?
I guess I could move my Real Doll in there...

I'm still laughing about "The Boogens".
I feel like that when I am surfing the net a lot of times (this site excluded, hehe!) millions of URL's and I swear to God I have seen them all. :)

Throughout the history of american television, there have been 2 shows that I would consider above average. They are the Simpsons and The Twilight Zone.
