KEVIN SMITH KNOWS I EXIST AND PERSONALLY acknowledged my homage to View Askew.

In the shameless pursuit to promote my movies, I posted a link to the short SIMULACRUM on the View Askew - Kevin Smith frequented messege board.

Within minutes, Kevin Smith himself compliments the movie.

And anyone who wants to see the short - you can see it here :

Haha, funny stuff. Good times.

And you got Kevin Smith to comment himself? Nice.

 Didn't I just see Kevin Smith on a TV commercial for a new DVD recorder?

A lot of folks would criticize him for becoming a pitchman for Panasonic, screaming 'sellout' more out of jealousy than artistic integrity, but I actually support his move.

Since the Bennifer/Gigli phenom will probably curse 'Jersey Girl' into (probably undeserved) box-office oblivion he has to do whatever it takes to survive and get his next film in the can.

Kudos to Sonnyboo for the positive response and good luck.

Thanks for the positive happy's.

I agree that Kevin Smith can pitch whatever he wants and there's nothing wrong with that. Since Jason Mewes is a heroin addict & the New Jersey "Askewniverse" movies are over, he needs to establish a lot more of HIMSELF, as opposed to "Silent Bob".

He's also a hit with the TONIGHT SHOW doing the travelling segments.

I can't get over the fact that Kevin Smith saw the short I did himself. It goes to show that he likes to keep humble by staying in touch with his fans via the WWWBoards.

Triggerstreet.com's a good spot for getting feedback on your film. I have a few scripts on the site and I've recieved some mostly fair and constructive feedback. There's always the risk of getting flamed by some dingus with nothing better to do, but the site's pretty good at weeding them out.

I haven't been as active as I should be lately due to other work but it's a good resource to check out.

Triggerstreet used to be much more "assholish" before they instated the HAL OF JUSTICE so there is a consequence to flaming now.

In a way I liked the flaming. It kept me grounded in reality and anyone who thinks their short is the creme de la creme of short films could quickly have their ego popped like a balloon at a Bulletfest.

SIMULACRUM is there too, as well as 21 other shorts from Sonnyboo.
