Could someone pop over to Salon.com and read Charles Taylors review of "Open Range?"

I haven't seen the film, but I intend to... I'm a fan of new westerns.. I thought Silverado was fun, and I gutted my way through "All the Pretty Horses" because I loved the book (though Billy Bob mangled it in movie form... and needlessly so. Cormack McCarthy's novel is practically a script... he writes in a Hemingway-esque style that's pure dialog... everything on the page should translate directly to the screen ) .

After you've read that review, come back and tell me who deserves more the label "self important twit:"
Costner, Taylor, or me?

'Cause for some reason, that guys reviews just piss me off... I don't know if it's his artsy high-horse, or what exactly, but he just sets my teeth on edge.

Hi Bradley,

I suggest you watch the movie first and then let me know what you think of his review. I'll be happy to discuss it with you. I read it and do take issue with some of his opinions.

Oh yeah, I would love to, but I just couldnīt find it at all. At least because of your post I finally discovered Salon.com and had another bookmark to add to my ever growing list. :)

So puleeeaassse post a link to the review, so even old western-haters like me can join the fun ....

(oh yeah, you'll need to sit through some Salon propaganda or ads to get the "free pass" in order to read the whole article... sorry about that part... )

I am going to take Critic Docs suggestion, and watch the film before I discuss the review...
