I need some festival help.
My film was shot in 16mm. It's a 22 minute short, black and white, off-beat humor, narrative, set in New York City, lots of wide shots and long takes.
From this description, can you suggest any festivals that are approaching? I think my best bet is to target "Independent" and "Underground" festivals. I've submitted to many already, but I don't want to miss one that may be the right fit for my film that I don't know about. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I checked out your site. It says the next outhouse is April 2003, nothing about a 2004 festival, or entries for 2004.

Really check out film fests & their track record before throwing $ away with all the entrance fees. It adds up.
Beyond that you may want to ask your self "what are the chances, really" of getting in 'casue otherwise it's a flat-out donation to the fest. Not that fests don't need their supporters....
Get Chris Gore's book. Don't mean to be a suck-butt hehe but he has all kinds of info in there and it's broken down into what would go well where. Brilliant and worth the cost.

Go to www.withoutabox.com and register as a user. it's a great online resourse for filmmakers and festival programmers. Many excellent festivals are there for you to apply to and you only have to fill out your information once, then you can apply to as many festivals as you can afford entry fees for.

Have you checked out the Independent Film Festival of Boston? I attended last year and thought it was the best of the 7 fests I went to in 2003. They had every kind of film there. Some seemed really low-budget and some not-so-low. The screenings were well attended, the fest staff was nice, and most of the filmmakers were there. I know their deadline is coming up soon. Their website is www.iffboston.org. See if you think it's right for your film. Good luck!
