In Ghost World, I was noticing that the lead anti-heroines both have relatively tremendous breasts for their age. Scarlett Johansson is a large-breasted young girl. And Thora Birch is literally a feeder of nine children with her gargantuan mammaries.

I also notice that the director of Ghost World is responsible for the Crumb docu, which dealt with a cartoonist with a predilection for women with large or in some cases giant tits.

Is there any validity in the notion that Indie films that feature young women with giant breasts interacting with older skinny men that are physically and emotionally akin to aging film reviewer geeks will tend to get better ratings than other films that deal with visually and prostatically less appealing topics, such as three women who go to an all women's college and end up interacting with horse-faced, big-lipped matriarchs resembling Julia Roberts?

I think it just adds validity that geeks like us will see a movie with girls who have big breasts - skinny guy or not.

Actually, we all tend to like movies with big-breasted gals that make out with each other too. No need for the guy on screen there...

Actually it was big legs (or big women in general) but I beleivve Robert Crumb goes on record as stating his preference for big legged women.

What was that line from The Simpsons? It was something like "There are over 100 film critics on TV, & Leonard Maltin's the best looking one of the bunch." "Eeeeww."

Male filmmakers aren't normally all that much in the looks department either. Face it, no male Director or Screenwriter will ever win a beauty contest.

Except me of course. ;)

Having attractive, and often buxom, young women interested in the skinny/fat/awkward nerd character is a form of wish fulfillment latent in every man who ever stepped behind the camera or in front of the keyboard, and thank god for it.

Without this psycho-sexual quirk plastic surgeons would be on the dole, botox would probably just be a bio-weapon and silicon would only be used to make computer chips. ;)

I dunno...I have read many articles that say big breasts will knock you out of being taken as a serious and respected actress. I can't think of anyone other than maybe Salma Hayek who have gigantic ma'ams :) Boobs are cool they, they make us women women and we use them for purposes of evil. :)
