Jeeziz. I saw him talk once in Edinburgh at the Film Festival about that film he did with an invisible Kevin Bacon (which is the best way to 'see' Kev, if you ask me - and incidentally, I never actually did see the film in question), Hollow Man. Verhoeven is crazy; always going on about WWII.

Reminds me of John Goodman's character in The Big Lebowski, always making inappropriate references to America's Indo-Chinese foray of a few decades ago: "What was all that shit about Vietnam?" You always just wanna stand up to Verhoeven and shout "What was all that shit about World War Two?"

Nevertheless. If you have that crazy bastard as your bodyguard, please consider all threats as nullified. The prospect of hand-to-hand combat with the director of Showgirls is just too frightening a prospect.
