Joe's actually my favorite artist of all time. Painter, musician, geek, madman - gotta love him.

Yeah, incredible artist - and crazy as a soup sandwich. Friend of Leonardo DiCaprio's. Scary motherfucker (Coleman that is, not wee Leo). You ever read the bit about him in the Re/Search book Pranks? About impersonating a dead man at a high school reunion? Or biting the heads off live mice and menacing people at his shows with shotguns? Crazy shit. But man, his paintings...you've never seen such beauty and detail, even if the subject matter is insane and morbid as hell.
Still, if it keeps him away from automatic weapons, I'm all for it.
PS: Like yer wee pic of the Hamburger Pimp from Dolemite. "I'm so bad I kick my own ass twice a day!" Quality mayhem. Rudy Ray Moore is amazing.
"Dolemite is my name and fuckin' up motherfuckers is my game!"
Falkirk is probably the only Scottish town with a small Dolemite cult, courtesy of yours truly. This place would be culturally bereft without me.
"I got your boy hangin'! You no-business-born insecure junkyard motherfucker!"
OG.

I love findagrave.com
even more disturbing is http://www.findadeath.com
this site tells the last days/moments of celebs; complete with death certificates, photos of where they died and sometimes photos of the bodies (lenny bruce is one);
It is a sadistic site, but for the morbidly curious who want to knwo full details of their fave stars last moments, youll find out here. I was just reading abotu Cary Grant's death; it had newspaper photos and clippings from davenport Iowa, where he died, with the last photos ever taken of him. Things i never know about the old guy. anyway, check it out.

Check out Mondo New York for some footage of Joe Coleman in action. He does his act where he bites the heads off two live mice then ignites fireworks in the front of his shirt. Afterward, the man gives a short interview to the filmmakers, telling a story about how he likes to fuck with stupid people in bars. It involves writing "Give Jesus Back to the Martians" in red paint on his forehead and waiting for someone to have a problem with it.
I read somewhere that he paints with a single-hair paintbrush.
And anyone interested in the full G.G. Allin experience can try to scrounge up a copy of Hated: G.G. Allin and the Murder Junkies on video.

The Joe Coleman book "Cosmic Retribution" is amazing. Contains tons of the man's art and tells his crazy ass life story.
The footage from Mondo New York is really cool, even though the rest of that film takes a bit of patience to put up with.
I have a 7" single of Joe Coleman and some of his buddies making some of the grisliest sounding noise you ever done heard. I love it!
