At the mention of the name Herschell Gordon Lewis, horror buffs bow down in respect with images of ripped out tongues and bloodthirsty hillbillies dancing in their heads. And it's this respect that's well deserved. After all, we're talking about the man who has been dubbed the "Godfather of Gore" by horror fans across the world, including John Waters. These propers have been served to Lewis nearly 40 years now as it was his 1963 film "Blood Feast" that turned the horror world on its head by including the most goriest scenes ever committed to film. It floored audiences everywhere and one of horror's earliest mavericks was born. But after directing other horror classics for the next ten years ("2,000 Maniacs", "Wizard of Gore", "Color Me Blood Red") Herschell Gordon Lewis left the director's seat to pursue a career as... a marketing strategist - a career for which he's carved quite a reputable name for himself amongst the marketing world, writing numerous books and articles.Now, nearly thirty years after he left the movie business to become a marketing guru, Herschell Gordon Lewis has returned with a vengeance, directing a sequel to his horror classic "Blood Feast". We had a few questions for Herschell about the yet to be released sequel as well as a few other curiosities. He was kind of enough to lend us his brain.
