FREDDY AND JASON RISE AGAIN

Halloween: it’s the one day of the year ghosts, witches, goblins and monsters walk amongst us and no one blinks an eye. However, on September 28 at the Paramour Mansion in Los Angeles, the dead rose a month early to reek havoc on the living… or just to have a few drinks and celebrate the release of Universal Picture’s “Boogeymen” on DVD.
“Boogeymen,” which is appropriately titled, is a collection of the most gruesome, haunting and horrific moments in horror films from both yesterday and today. The DVD features classic scenes from 17 films like Friday the 13th, “Scream,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Leprechaun,” “Halloween” and “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.” In order to properly announce the DVD’s arrival in video stores on October 2, Universal held a séance and brought back the two masters of terror– Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) and Jason (Kane Hodder)– to help count all the bodies that have been killed for over two decades.
Although the two have been missing in action since the early ’90s, both Freddy and Jason are making their long-awaited returns to haunt a whole new generation of viewers who may have never seen a “Nightmare on Elm Street” or Friday the 13th movie on USA or TBS. And as the two helped celebrate the release of “Boogeymen,” they briefly talked about how horror films have changed over the past few years and answered the question on every horror-movie buff’s mind– when will these two finally battle each other?
