Microcinema International, Film Arts Foundation and 111 Minna Gallery will present the eighth season of INDEPENDENT EXPOSURE, the monthly screening series of international independent short films and videos, the last Monday of each month beginning January 27th and continuing through October. INDEPENDENT EXPOSURE, created by Microcinema International in Seattle in 1996, relocated to San Francisco last year, playing to capacity crowds at the 111 Minna Gallery from May-October of 2002. Since 1996, INDEPENDENT EXPOSURE has presented over 750 short works from all over the world and has toured to 36 countries and Antarctica. Film Arts Foundation and Microcinema International recently were awarded a grant from the Community Arts Distribution Committee of the ZELLERBACH FAMILY FOUNDATION to pay honoraria to artists included in INDEPENDENT EXPOSURE 2003.
“We are thrilled that our series is entering into its eighth year, and look forward to another exciting season made possible not only by our committed partners, Film Arts Foundation and 111 Minna Gallery, but also by the enthusiastic and devoted San Francisco audiences,” says Joel S. Bachar, Co-founder and Curator of Microcinema.
