LEARN THE ART OF SELF-DEFENSE

On Saturday, September 13, 2003 the Indie Film Group and Seattle’s Circle Rock Productions will host a nationally recognized seminar, “SELF-DEFENSE FOR WRITERS AND FILMMAKERS”, featuring renowned veteran Hollywood entertainment attorney Mark Litwak. From 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Seattle filmmakers will receive guidance and encouragement as Litwak educates them on fundraising, deal making, and the general tricks of the trade. Participants will include production companies, producers, directors, writers, and many others involved with the film industry. The $125 registration fee includes the seminar, enormous networking opportunities, Q&A sessions, major discounts on book purchases, and workbook materials with sample contracts, checklists, and forms.
“Writers and filmmakers need to understand their legal rights and how to defend themselves from those who may seek to exploit them,” commented James Taylor, Seattle entertainment lawyer and president of Circle Rock Productions, LLC. “Production companies and distributors often know all the tricks of the trade, while writers and filmmakers sometimes know little about how to protect themselves. This seminar will help if that is a problem”
