On [ Friday, October 20th, 2000, ] the San Francisco Film Society will debut a special selection of films, for three days only, that represent the freakiest and most imaginitive movies of international cult and horror — just in time for Halloween, of course. The Dark Wave series will screen at the [ Roxie Cinema at 3317 16th Street ] in San Francisco.
Opening night is a double-pronged attack on the nervous system, with the infamous 80’s horror docu-drama “Demon Lover Diary” showing before the anticipated unveiling of “Blood” — the U.S. debut of a UK-based film about love on the brink of madness, with a nod towards early Cronenberg. As a part of this program, viewers are asked to stop by an hour before the screening to donate real blood for the Blood Centers of the Pacific. It’s blood for “Blood”.
Details on ticket prices, and the extended weekend schedule for this event, can be found at the [ San Francisco Film Society site. ]
