The Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival has a nice long name to go with its nice long run — 28 days, which is a world record in all of festdom. Over 100 films are brought to life at each year’s event, and this go-round, Matt Ogens and Jen Roskind get to see their short film “Harvest” on the big screen on [ Saturday, November 4th at 3:00 PM. ] Can’t make it on Day One? Then catch it again on either [ Monday, November 6th at 12:00 PM ] or [ Saturday, November 11th at 3:00 PM. ] All “Harvest” screenings will take place at Cinema Paradiso in Ft. Lauderdale.
What sets “Harvest” apart from the scores of other shorts doing the festival circuit are two things. First off, writer/director Matt Ogens has plenty of industry time under his belt, with work on films like “Random Hearts” and “The Object of My Affection”. And producer Jen Roskind works with the director of CBS’ hit “Now and Again”. Secondly, two of the featured actors in “Harvest” are siblings, and kids to boot, but much less annoying than any Mary Kate/Ashley Olsen-type pairing. Sirena Mazzone, all of 7 years old, is the star of the short, and big brother Jake plays a featured extra.
