WINONA RYDER GETS HER STAR
Maybe you best know Winona on-screen as the ultimate disaffected gothy teenager in “Beetlejuice,” or as Veronica Sawyer, a rose among the thorns, in the classic, wicked “Heathers”. Since her screen debut, Winona Ryder has starred in lots of movies, been Oscar-nominated, had songs written about her (check out Matthew Sweet’s “Winona”) and even added the elusive “producer” hyphenate to her actress title, which of course makes her a Hollywood player. Winona gets her due with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on [ Friday, October 6th. ]
The star will be the 2,165th one to grace the hardly-pristine concrete “sky” that is Hollywood Boulevard. Winona’s star unveiling will go on at [ 11:30am ] at 7018 Hollywood Blvd. in front of the Johnny Grant building, adjacent to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
The Walk of Fame honors coincide with the release of Winona’s latest project, the horror-thriller “Lost Souls” which stars Ben Chaplin and John Hurt. Other recent projects include “Autumn in New York” with Richard Gere, and “Girl, Interrupted”.
