THE SECRET CINEMA HOSTS “THE TONG MAN”
On [ Friday, October 20th, 2000 ] , the Secret Cinema at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA. will host a rare screening of the 1919 silent film classic “The Tong Man”. The drama, set in the mysterious realm of San Francisco’s Chinese underworld, stars silent-era film star Sessue Hayakawa as Luk Chan, the “hatchet man” assasin of the Tongs (gangs).
A live keyboard accompaniment will be played with the screening. The film will also be screened with several silent short films, and this one-night-only event begins at [ 8PM ] . Admission is $6.00. For show details, call [ (215) 568-4515, ext. 4099 ] .
