BROKEN MUSIC AT AURORA
On [ Saturday, November 4th ] at [ 7 and 9 PM ] and [ Sunday, November 5th ] at [ 3 PM ] , Houston’s outstanding Aurora Picture Show will present a multimedia experience/event entitled “Broken Music”. The performance will feature videos on experimental music that blend sound and action, as records are broken, light is made into sound, and dry ice becomes a turntable…old becomes new on film.
Each de-composition nods distinctly to influences as diverse as Jimi Hendrix and the Fluxus movement. The soundscape is provided by the music of Sonic Youth, Steina Vasulka, Voice Crack, and others. For more on “Broken Music” and other Aurora shows, go to [ the Aurora Picture Show website. ]
