“THE DEPARTED” TWO NEWS
A few weeks before the Oscar noms came out, we reported that a sequel to “The Departed” was being mulled. Now, hot on the heels of some big noms (and likely wins) the wheels for the sequel have been set churning. Warner Bros already has the rights to the remakes of the original film (“Infernal Affairs”) which was the start of a trilogy. But now writer William Monahan is busy typing away on a new yarn that would focus more on Oscar nominee Marky Mark and will feature a character played by Robert DeNiro. Yet this all hinges on Marty Scorsese’s stamp of approval.
