“It’s depressing to walk into a class sophomore year and see that the number of girls has decreased in just a year.” – NYU film school student
Sadly, the way of the film school-world these days often reflects the above statement…but Cinechica, 50//50 (founded by Allison Anders ) and the NYU Director’s Series want to change that, and they’re taking steps with their “My First Time” screening and Film School Survival for Girls discussion on [ Friday, March 23rd ] at [ 7 to 8PM ] (film portion) and [ 8 to 10PM ] (panel). The event will take place at the [ Cantor Auditorium ] at [ 8th Street and University ] and the whole deal is totally free.
Films set to screen include cool early works from Tamra Davis, Mary Harron, Jamie Babbitt, Nancy Savoca, Helen Stickler, Esther Bell , Tamara Hernandez, Suki Hawley, Patricia Cardoso and Sarah Jacobson. For all details, check out the Cinechica headquarters.
