“TURKISH WIZARD OF OZ” NEW YORK SCREENING
The Turkish Wizard of Oz will have a special one-time screening in New York on Monday, May 7 at the Two Boots Den of Cin, located at 44 Avenue A. Showtime is 8pm and admission is free.
Named one of the Ten Best Unseen Films of 2000 by Film Threat, The Turkish Wizard of Oz is a 1971 version of you-know-what which only arrived in the US three decades after its Istanbul debut. Featuring surreal variations on the fabled characters and a host of unlikely situations (ranging from a musical number with midgets dressed like soldiers), The Turkish Wizard of Oz is guaranteed to have everyone saying “Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road!” before the closing credits.
