Former porn legend Alisha Klass, recently seen in Center of the World, is set to star in an ultra-violent, girl-gang surf genre film in the vein of the Russ Meyer classic “Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!” In “Surfbroads,” Alisha plays the gorgeous yet ruthless leader of a teenage girl gang whose daily activities include surfing, hustling, and (of course!)…murder. “Alisha’s perfect for the role. She walks down the street and it’s chaos.” says writer/director Cody Jarrett. This holds true following the recent tabloid & media frenzy surrounding Ms. Klass. Cover stories in the Globe, Star, and National Enquirer exploring her relationship with actor Bruce Willis; her erotic promotion for Wayne Wang’s film The Center Of The World; her top-rated weekly Playboy Channel show; regular guest appearances on Howard Stern. All eyes (and then some) are on her!
Surfbroads represents Ms Klass’ first starring role in a crossover film. “I loved the script and felt an immediate connection to it” says Alisha. “Plus, I get to kick ass; something I do rather well!” The film boasts an eclectic variety of characters from both new and classic Hollywood, including original Russ Meyer cast members, and more cult icons TBA. Surfbroads is also the first feature from writer/director Jarrett, who started a showbiz career fresh out of high school acting in films ranging from The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane to Mystery Men. He is also the lead singer of celebrity all-star band Teen Machine.
“Surfbroads is an homage to the great exploitation films of the past. FPKK, Caged Heat, Switchblade Sisters – nobody really makes pictures like that anymore. But those are the only kinds of films I’m interested in seeing. That’s why we’re making Surfbroads!” cites auteur Jarrett. Surfbroads is currently in preparation and begins principal photography late summer in Los Angeles.
