AFGHANI FILM DRAWS TREMENDOUS RESPONSE
This past Sunday, overwhelming crowds clamored to see “Jung (War): In the Land of the Mujaheddin,” a film about Afghanistan, at the Facets Cinematheque in Chicago. Over 700 people showed up for the free, one-time only screening at 12:30 pm, with lines running out the door and around the block. Screenings of other films were cancelled, and four more shows of “Jung” were immediately added. Facets hopes to bring “Jung” back for additional screenings sometime in the future, though circumstances are pending.
“We are very proud to present this extraordinary film, which has much to say about the current situation in Afghanistan,†says Milos Stehlik, co-founder and director of Facets Multimedia.
