Silent Road Productions is set to begin principal photography on the suspense thriller “American Crime,” which will star actors Annabella Sciorra (HBO’s The Sopranos), Rachael Leigh Cook (Josie and the Pussycats), and Kip Pardue (Remember the Titans). “American Crime,” which will begin production in November in Los Angeles, Kansas and Missouri, was written by Jeff Ritchie and Jack Moore and will be directed and shot by Dan Mintz. The film is being produced by Jeff Ritchie and executive produced by Wu Bing. “I am excited to be working with Dan Mintz again,” said producer Jeff Ritchie, “together we feel we have found the perfect vehicle for such an exceptional cast.”
“American Crime” is a suspense thriller about a TV news crew who, while investigating a murder, discover a tape of the victim being followed and eventually killed. When young, sexy reporter Jesse St. Clair (Rachael Leigh Cook), naive cameraman Rob Latrobe (Kip Pardue) and their feminist producer Jane Berger (Annabella Sciorra) go to the new town Sheriff, he dismisses the incident as accidental and refuses to help. When more murders occur, the crew decides to take matters into their own hands.
Producer/writer Jeff Ritchie, director Dan Mintz, writer Jack Moore and executive producer Wu Bing recently collaborated on the indie film Cookers, which premiered at the 2001 Los Angeles Film Festival and recently won “Best Picture,” “Best Cinematography,” “Best Editing,” and “Best Music” at the Milan International Film Festival.
