The First Annual International Gay Film Awards were held on Friday, March 22nd at the Ed Gould Theater in Hollywood. The event was created to honor gay-themed films that only saw limited theatrical release over the last year.
This year’s winners include:
“Paragraph 175″ (New Yorker Films) for Best Documentary, selected by US Gay Film Festivals. ^ “Trembling Before G-D” (New Yorker Films) for Best Documentary, selected by US Gay Press. ^ â€œBurnt Moneyâ€ (Strand Releasing) and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” (Fine Line Features) tied for Best Feature Film, selected by US Gay Film Festivals. ^ â€œSecond Skinâ€ (Menemsha Entertainment) for Best Film, selected by International Gay Film Festivals. ^ â€œHedwig and the Angry Inchâ€ (Fine Line Features) for Best Film, selected by US Press. ^ â€œHedwig and the Angry Inchâ€ (Fine Line Features) for Overall Best Film, selected by all voting outlets.
