ACADEMY SCREENS “THE LIFE OF EMILE ZOLA”

“The Life of Emile Zola” will be featured on Monday, July 8th at 7:30 p.m. in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater as the next film in the Academy’s 75th Anniversary screening series, “Facets of the Diamond: 75 Years of Best Picture Winners.”
The program will also include trailers for other Best Picture nominees of 1937, including “The Good Earth,” “Captains Courageous” and “A Star Is Born.” From the film “Waikiki Wedding,” Bing Crosby’s song “Sweet Leilani,” which won the Oscar for Best Song, will serve as the curtain music. The Oscar-winning Cartoon Short Subject, “The Old Mill,” will also screen with newsreel footage of the 10th Academy Awards.
As with all Diamond Anniversary screenings, tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Academy box office. The theater is located at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills. For more information, call (310) 247-3000, ext. 111.
