“Hey, martial arts fan! Are you ready to get your guts kicked out?” Well, the filmmakers behind the ultra-violent Lethal Force are up to their old tricks again as their next feature, tentatively titled “Certain Death”, is in the writing stages. Much like Lethal Force this new film will be – a straight-faced action send-up but on an exponentially larger scale with a globe-trotting story centering around two Interpol super cops and their attempts to foil the insane plot of their charismatic archenemy- a brilliant criminal scientist patterned after Fu Manchu, Dr. Mabuse and Priest from “Superfly”.
If that doesn’t have you droolin’, writer/producer/director Alvin Ecarma describes the new film as “John Woo’s “The Abominable Dr. Phibes” starring William ‘Blacula’ Marshall.” Too bad we have a while to get a taste of “Certain Death” as production is scheduled to begin either late 2003 or early 2004.
