WHERE DID ALL OF THE SUPERMARIONETTES GO?
Cuz they certainly won’t be in Jonathan Frakes’s live action version of “Thunderbirds”, Gerry Anderson’s cult British TV series that used puppets and models in a process dubbed “supermarionation.”
Here’s an idea, let’s take something really cool and just rip all the fun right out of it, the reason why it’s been loved for generations, and send it back out in the world, cold and naked.
To be produced by Universal Pictures, “Star Trek”‘s Jonathan Frakes will direct the live action “Thunderbirds”, which is to begin shooting early next year. Frakes’s other directing accomplishments include Star Trek: Insurrection, “Star Trek: First Contact” and…Clockstoppers.
