Two minutes! That’s about the cumulative running time of the dialogue scenes in “Rambo” — I, II, and III. Yet this cheeky animated ultra-short from Rachel Max somehow manages to crank off an entire dissertation on the Cold War symbolism in “Rocky IV” in that same period of time. It’s a reasonably accurate take on it, too — not that the Rocky franchise was demonstrating a whole lot of subtlety by that time — made all the more striking by this film’s rudimentary and unassuming animation. If nothing else, “Rocky IV, An Animation” proves that you can convey a lot of hefty information within a very short period of time. That in and of itself pretty much makes this film the exact opposite of its namesake.
