Bike ride is a six-minute animated pæan to getting dumped that every guy whose ever been hurt thinks he deserves. Tom Shroeder’s black and white line drawings dance to the rhythms of the Jazz drum soundtrack as the laid back narrator dissects his unappreciated fifty mile bike trip to see his girlfriend. Luckily, all my ex’s were nice enough to at least drive me home after they broke up with me. Shroeder’s subject wasn’t so lucky. There is nothing astounding here, but the narrator’s self amusement and slacker lack of venom win you over. I can’t believe she wasn’t impressed that I rode fifty miles to see her!
