ARE YOU THE FAVORITE PERSON OF ANYBODY?
|
“Are You the Favorite Person of Anbody?” is a clever four minutes of odd fun directed by Miguel Arteta and written by Miranda July, who wrote and directed one of the best features at Sundance 2005, “Me and You and Everyone We Know.” In addition to her talent for long titles, July has a gift for semi-surreal but compelling events. In the black-and-white HD movie, John C. Reilly plays a man standing on a neighborhood street, asking people the titular survey. July, regular Arteta collaborator Mike White and Chuy Chávez play the interviewees, who all offer different answers and receive different responses (“Would you like an orange?”).
