A mother and her two children, exhausted from a long road trip, seek shelter in an old hotel. The wizened crone who runs the place tells them a story of a train that was struck by lightning on its last run. Now, as the legend goes, the conductor is looking for more passengers in order to make his final run.

Can you guess what happens next? Yes, this film is that predictable, and such predictability is one of the worst sins a horror film can commit. With predictability comes familiarity, and familiarity breeds contempt (just ask Aesop). A lot of effort is put into the creepy atmosphere and deliberate pacing, but without a more intriguing plot or vibrant characters the film becomes an exercise in cinematography. Not a good way to go about frightening the audience.
